Jim Crow: Now & Then is an immersive digital storytelling experience that uses interactive narratives and virtual reality to illuminate the historical realities of the Jim Crow Era and draw empathetic connections to contemporary issues of systemic inequality.

Jim Crow: Now & Then is an immersive and digital storytelling experience designed to foster deeper understanding and empathy. Users will engage with a compelling narrative and interactive infographics, shedding light on critical issues. The experience culminates in an immersive 360 virtual reality video, transporting viewers to historic South Florida sites, allowing them to deeply compare the past during the Jim Crow Era with their present reality.

Challenge
Its core purpose is to bring light to the issues minorities faced during the Jim Crow Era and draw holistic connections to the challenges they navigate today. My hope is that by experiencing this narrative, users will not only gain a more profound understanding of historical and ongoing unfair treatment but also feel empowered to create opportunities for positive change within their own communities.
